F1: Vettel To Replace Alonso at Ferrari

Vettel's departure from Red Bull and Alonso's from Ferrari was perhaps one of the worst kept secrets in history. Despite Christian Horner's proclamation about Vettel joining the Ferrari camp next year, nobody was quite sure about where the two were headed. Well, Ferrari has finally made the obvious official.
Ferrari announced that it ended their relationship with the Spaniard by common consent, thus opening the door for Vettel. Marco Mattiacci, Ferrari team boss, said, "In the Scuderia Ferrari roll of honour of great drivers, Fernando Alonso will always occupy a special place." Alonso, on the other hand, said, "Today is not an easy one for me,because even if I always look to the future with great enthusiasm and determination, at the end of this season my journey as a Ferrari driver will come to an end."
The Spaniard further added that leaving Ferrari was a difficult decision considering his love for the Italian marquee. Ferrari also confirmed that Alonso's successor, the quadruple world champion - Vettel, has signed a three-year contract.
Talking about the move to Ferrari, Vettel spoke about his idol - Michael Schumacher and said, "When I was a kid, Michael Schumacher in the red car was my greatest idol and now it's an incredible honour to finally get the chance to drive a Ferrari."
As far as Alonso's next team is concerned, we expect Alonso to move to McLaren, but the British F1 team is yet to make an announcement. Apparently they do not wish to say anything till it has decided who Alonso's teammate will be.
