Fiat 500L MPV to Be Launched in India?

Despite launching the new Punto and the Punto based crossover, Fiat India continues to struggle in India. One major reason behind the failure of Fiat India is the lack of product lineup. The company has been selling only two cars for years - Punto and Linea. Whereas newer entrants like Nissan and Renault have a bigger product line-up than Fiat in India. But things will not be same in next 1-2 years, as the company is planning to introduce some all new cars along with bringing in its global brands like Jeep and Abarth to India.
Fiat is planning to launch a couple of new products including the Abarth 595 Competizione and Abarth Avventura. The company might also launch a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) - the 500L in the country, as the vehicle has been recently imported in India for research & development.

Available in both 5 and 7 seat options globally, the Fiat 500L is the third member of the company's popular 500 range. The model that has been imported to India features a 1.3-litre multi-jet diesel unit that is good for 84bhp and 200Nm. The company also sells this vehicle with a 1.6-litre multijet diesel, though that might not be launched here. There might be a petrol model as well powered by the same 0.9-litre Twinair petrol (105bhp, 145Nm) that does duty on the global model. However, the company hasn't yet revealed any details about the car.

Upon its launch, the Fiat 500L MPV will take on Toyota Innova in India.
