- Ferrari 488 Pista is the Special Series for the 488 range
- Features most powerful Ferrari road going V8 in history
- The Ferrari 488 Pista does 0-100 kmph in just 2.8 seconds
The Ferrari 488 Pista, possibly the most popular car on social media today, has made its public debut at the 2018 Geneva Auto Show. The new special series supercar follows a long line of cars from the Ferrari 348 Serie Speciale, Ferrari 355 Serie Fiorano, the Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale, the Ferrari 430 Scuderia and the Ferrari 458 Speciale. The new Ferrari 488 Pista will see limited production just like the special editions of past models. The new Ferrari 488 Pista puts out very impressive figures in terms of its technical specifications. The mid-mounted V8 is the most powerful ever V8 ever fitted to any road going Ferrari ever!

The 3.9-litre, twin-turbocharged, flat plane V8 now makes a staggering 711 bhp of peak power and 770 Nm of peak torque. The 488 Pista gets a top speed of 340 kmph and a 0-100 kmph time of only 2.8-seconds. The 0-200 kmph sprint is taken care of in just 7.6-seconds! The Pista is also considerably lighter as compared to the standard car by 90 kilos due to a diet that involves a range of lighter carbon fibre and titanium parts. The 488 Pista gets a slew of parts that have been developed by Ferrari for the 488 Challenge and 488 GT3 programs including a lightweight and free-flow exhaust system, new exhaust manifolds, a lightweight crankshaft, titanium con-rods and even a new carbon fibre intake.

(The Ferrari 488 Pista can go from 0-100 kmph in just 2.85 seconds)
The big talking point of the new Ferrari 488 Pista though isn't the extra power that it makes but all the aero aids that have been added into the car to make it produce drastically more down force around a race track. The front end has been completely redesigned with a new F-Duct that channels air front the lower half of the bumper to the top of the bonnet providing front-end downforce. The car also a more aggressive front splitter and a larger front bumper with larger air intakes to cool the front brakes. And as expected, you do get a ton of carbon fibre that can be speced up to the owners taste.

(Ferrari 488 Pista features a new front and rear end for more downforce)
At the rear, the new Ferrari 488 Pista features a more aggressive diffuser, larger air vents to cool the engine and a new exhaust placement. The car also features an in built wing that channels air from over the engine cover to add to the downforce. Unlike the large wing on the likes of the Lamborghini Huracan Performante or the hydraulic wing on the back of the McLaren 720S, this also adds to a cleaner look to the rear leaving it uncluttered. The new Ferrari 488 Pista also features a set of lighter new multispoke wheels.
