Genovation Cars' To Debut GXE Electric Corvette With 789 BHP Next Month

- The GXE is based on a Corvette
- The electric Corvette has more than power than the new Corvette ZR1
- It will be unveiled at the upcoming 2018 CES next month
It was back in October 2016, when Maryland-based Genovation Cars announced to the world its plan to build an electric sportscar. Now, almost a year later, the company is ready with their prototype of Genovation Extreme Electric (GXE), which is none other than a Corvette-based electric sports car. What is more interesting is this electric Corvette has more power than the new Corvette ZR1 with a 6.2L V-8 engine that can churn out maximum power of 744 BHP and peak torque of 969 Nm. The new GXE Electric Corvette, which will debut next month at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show, also happens to be the only street-legal electric super car in the world.

Genovation is also developing smart phone apps for both the iPhone and Android to allow for remote charge control and HVAC activation allowing the car to be pre cooled or heated while plugged in order to maximize driving range without compromising comfort. A large custom touch screen will control everything from the stereo to HVAC to performance drive modes to track day data acquisition.
The GXE, which is restricted to only 75 units, is a highly modified Corvette that has been re-imagined by Genovation to be a performance driven all-electric vehicle. The GXE includes a state-of-the-art battery management system, inverters, batteries and electric motors that exceed 789 BHP and 813 NM of torque. Through improvements in development, the range has been extended to 241 km during normal driving operation. The GXE is designed for superior handling, with a near 50/50 weight distribution and optimized for a low centre of gravity. It is available with either a 7-Speed manual transmission or a paddle shifting 8-Speed automatic. It has a top speed of 336 kmph.
