Harley-Davidson Launches 1200 Custom at Rs. 8,90,000

Harley-Davidson has started 2016 by giving a good surprise. The American motorcycle manufacturer launched its latest Sportster - the 2016 1200 Custom - at an event held in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The bike will be assembled at Harley's facility in Bawal, Haryana, and will expand Harley-Davidson's CKD line-up in the Indian market. With this addition, Harley now offers 13 motorcycles in India, out of which 8 come via the CKD route.
The bike is powered by a 1,200cc, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine which uses a five-speed gearbox to deliver the power to the rear wheel. This engine produces 96Nm of peak torque at 3,500rpm. Suspension and braking have been tuned to suit the Indian road conditions. Some of the other features include a pull-back handlebar for optimum riding comfort, dual trip meter, and Michelin Scorcher tyres - 130/90 16 at the front and 150/80 16 at the rear.
Commenting on the new motorcycle, Mr. Vikram Pawah, Managing Director, Harley-Davidson India, said, "We are expanding our reach to fulfil more dreams of personal freedom and are here to promote the sport of leisure motorcycling. Harley-Davidson India has a strategic product plan to take its growth story to the next level."
The Harley-Davidson 1200 Custom will be available across all the dealerships starting from today with price starting from Rs. 8,90,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
