Helmets That Beat Air Pollution

It is the first brand to have come up with a carbon filter. This helmet can beat air pollution. A city like Delhi is fighting pollution of the worst type. These helmets can filter out about 90 per cent of pollutants.
Carbon filters can be seen in some household equipment like water filters. What makes the carbon filter so special is it can be washed. Nobody yet knows how long it does last on the shelves.
Delhi is suffering due to severe air pollution. The air quality index has reached a peak causing the suffering of the denizens. The government is coming up with different schemes and techniques to fight pollution. The government has come up with innovative odd-even numbers of vehicles that can come on the roads on alternate days. The air purifying helmets have come to the rescue of the two-wheelers.

What's activated carbon?
The Charcoal acts as an air filter when it is treated with oxygen, the pores of the charcoal open up to let in airborne particles and harmful chemicals. These chemicals and particles are responsible for poor air quality in the cities. The carbon filter draws in pollutants into it and they are trapped thus. They can't go back to the environment. It leads to cleaner air that you breathe in.
These activated filters made of carbon are easy to maintain because they are washable. The helmets have been painted with UV resistant paints. There is a specially designed visor and aerodynamic air vents for good air circulation. There is one watertight interface of Visor. The surface of the optics is wide for a wider peripheral vision. The helmet is scratch resistant.
The air purifier is fitted on the back of the helmet. It traps the pollutants rushing in and removes them. The purified air is circulated within the helmet. It is the first helmet of this type in the world fitted with an air purifier. There is a rider here. The efficacy of the filter decreases with the increasing size of the pollutants. The filter should be replaced every month depending on the number of times a helmet is used. There is an LED fitted in the helmet indicating the speed of the fan and the level of the battery.

Operation of the helmet
You have to switch on the button for starting power. The button can adjust the fan speed. There are fan and battery indicators. The helmet was designed by a team of experts after years of research. It took a lot of toils before the helmet came to bear its final shape. It required a lot of cost and time. There were a series of trials and restructurings before the team could zero in on the final prototype. It went through vigorous analysis and quality checks. There were multiple departments and disciplines were involved in the entire process of making this unique helmet. The different disciplines involved were electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, design department, industrial design team, and so on. Before the teams came up with the final piece, they had to face many hurdles and they had to untie the knots one after another. Finally, the product that came for observation was tested for its efficacy and it was subjected to meeting the safety standards.
This helmet, with air-purifying qualities is available in some select shops. The product shall be made available at e-commerce sites also so that sitting at home; one can order it online and get it delivered at one's doorstep. The price of the helmet varies between Rs. 3500 andRs. 5000.
