Honda 2Wheelers Kick Starts 2022 Talent Hunt For Indian Riders

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) kick-started the hunt for young racing talent by conducting round 1 of Idemitsu Honda India Talent Hunt 2022 at the Aruani Gridin go-kart track in Bengaluru, which saw riders from 5 cities (Chennai, Coimbatore, Bengaluru, Malappuram, and Lucknow) participate in the event. The young and aspiring riders were from an age group of 9-17 years.
Commenting on the first round of the talent hunt, Prabhu Nagaraj, Operating Officer, Brand & Communication, HMSI said, "The IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Hunt is a platform developed by Honda that gives an avenue to aspiring and budding racers from all over India to unleash their potential on racetrack. We have kicked-off the 2022 hunt for next-gen racing sensation from Bengaluru and shortlisted candidates will be participating in the next level".
"In long term, Honda's focus is to put young Indian talent on multiple National & International platforms like Asia Talent Cup, Asia Road Racing Championship, Endurance championships. I am confident that these budding riders will change the scenario of motorsports in India and make the nation proud both at national as well as international level" he added.
Phase I consisted of all 9 candidates going through 3 levels of tests, those being a physical fitness evaluation, evaluation of riding skills and manoeuvrability on the race track, and a one-on-one interview of candidates and their parents to understand their passion for motorsport.
The top candidates shortlisted from phase I will be trained and promoted to ride on the track in phase II. The final riders will get an opportunity to race in the CBR 150R category of the ongoing 2022 Idemitsu Honda India Talent Cup.
