Jeep Compass Bookings In India Cross 10,000 Units

The Jeep Compass was launched last month at a very impressive price point between Rs. 14.95-20.65 lakh. The Compass even before launch had 5000 bookings and post launch, that number quickly grew every day. And now, the bookings for the Jeep Compass have crossed the 10,000 unit mark. The Compass has made quite the splash in the Indian SUV segment by offering a competent product at a good price tag and is available with both petrol and diesel engines and in multiple variants. Waiting periods for the Jeep Compass are currently at about 2 months with the factory ramping up production to two shifts a day to keep up with demand from the Indian public.

The Jeep Compass gets an in-your-face and very typically SUV like design language with the seven slat trademark Jeep grille combined with projector headlamps and daytime running lights on the top spec version. The higher spec variants also get a two tone paintjob along with black alloy wheels. On the interior front, the Jeep Compass gets a well made and upmarket interior with the top spec getting a white leather seat package. The Jeep Compass is also well equipped when it comes to features. It gets a large touchscreen with inbuilt navigation, Apple CarPlay and Andriod Auto.

The Jeep Compass gets both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol is a 1.4-litre Multiair turbocharged 4-cylinder motor that makes 160 bhp of peak power and 250 Nm of peak torque. The petrol engine is mated to a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual clutch automatic. The diesel engine is a 2-litre Multijet 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that makes 170 bhp of peak power and 350 Nm of peak torque. Currently, the diesel is only available with a manual 6-speed gearbox that gets a two wheel drive or a four-wheel-drive option. The automatic version of the Jeep Compass diesel is expected later this year.
