Kinetic Honda DX Reborn? New Kinetic Electric Scooter Spied Testing

Highlights
- New scooter looks to draw inspiration from the Kinetic-Honda ZX
- Looks to be catered to the commuter market
- Likely to take on the likes of the Bajaj Chetak and Ather Rizta
Kinetic Green has commenced testing an all-new electric scooter on Indian roads. Kinetic Green so far offers three two-wheelers in the Indian market including the reborn all-electric e-Luna along with a low-speed electric scooter, the Zing and the e-Zulu. The new scooter could be the brand's new family-oriented electric scooter and looks to bear some design similarities with the iconic 2-stroke Kinetic-Honda DX scooter from the 1990s.

On the design front, the test mule bears a lot of similarities with the patent images. The front apron is devoid of any fussy design detailing, with simple lines while the front fender does feature a slightly angular design. A single large headlight is housed on the handlebar cowling though the indicators are not visible under the camouflage.

Down the sides, too, there is little fuss visible about the design, with a simple and clean design continuing to the side panels, while at the rear, the camouflage hides the tail light design. Other details visible included a thick floorboard – likely housing the battery, while under the single-piece seat, the scooter could feature a storage compartment. Kinetic has previously confirmed it was working on a family electric scooter which would feature a large underseat storage.
The scooter also featured a disc brake at the front and a hub-mounted electric motor. Suspension duties look to be handled by a telescopic unit up front and dual shocks at the rear.

While details are scarce, the new scooter could be the brand’s most premium scooter yet and could go up against models such as the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, Ather Rizta and Vida VX2.
