KTM 790 Adventure Spotted Testing

- KTM has been testing the 790 Adventure extensively
- It gets the same engine as the KTM 790 Duke
- The KTM 790 Adventure will not be coming to India, in the near future
One of many bikes that caught our fancy at the 2017 EICMA Show was the prototype of the KTM 790 Adventure. The KTM 790 Duke is a brand new bike itself, with a 799 cc parallel-twin engine. And before the street bike could hit the street, the 790 Adventure has already been spotted testing in Europe. The KTM 790 Adventure which you see here in these pics is more or less similar to the prototype. You do see the high-set exhaust along with the thick bashplate and the radical-looking headlamp. We also believe that the 790 Adventure will be getting a bunch of electronics such as ABS with supermoto mode, traction control that senses lean, launch control, riding modes with a customisable off-road mode and a TFT instrumentation console as well.

The 790 Adventure will be getting the same engine as the 790 Duke, which is a 799 cc parallel twin making 103 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 86 Nm at 8,000 rpm. The engine gets two balancer shafts, semi-dry sump lubrication and is oil-cooled. From what we hear, the 790 Duke could weigh lesser than 180 kg (dry).
(KTM 790 Adventure)It has been a while since KTM had a solid offering in the middleweight adventure touring segment. With the 790 Duke ready for production and the 790 Adventure being tested extensively, we believe that the adventure bike will be ready for the market and hit the roads/trails towards the end of 2018. We are hoping for two things now! First, that the bike is ready for launch earlier and that KTM brings both the 790 Duke and the 790 Adventure to India as well.
