KTM RC 250 Spotted Testing

- Upcoming KTM RC 250 spotted on Indian roads
- The KTM RC 250 is based on the KTM 200 Duke
- The test bike is production-ready and will likely be launched soon
KTM India is getting ready to launch another full-faired entry-level sportbike, this time in the form of the KTM RC 250. KTM already has the RC 200 and the RC 390, and the only missing full-faired bike in KTM's line-up was the RC 250, a full-faired version of the KTM 250 Duke which was launched earlier this year. The KTM 250 Duke is priced at Rs. 1.75 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), so expect the KTM RC 250 to be priced around Rs. 1.85-1.9 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), once the new model is launched.

The upcoming KTM RC 250 was spotted on the Mumbai-Pune highway
The new bike was spotted undergoing test runs at the Mumbai-Pune highway, and from the looks of it, seems to be a production-ready model, with similar looks of the KTM RC 390, but with new graphics with the RC 250 decals on the fairing. From the spy shots, it seems the RC 250 shares many components with the RC 390, with an identical side-mounted exhaust. The engine is expected to be the same as the KTM 250 Duke's - the 248.8 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled mill making 30 bhp of power and 24 Nm of peak torque.
Braking is handled by a single 300 mm disc up front gripped by Bybre calipers and a single 230 mm disc at the rear. KTM may offer ABS as an option with a higher-spec variant. Expect KTM to launch the bike very soon, possibly even before the current calendar year gets over. With the RC 250, KTM will have six models on offer in India - the KTM 200 Duke, 250 Duke, 390 Duke, RC 200, RC 390 and now the RC 250.
