The Lamborghini Urus has been a game changer for the Italian supercar brand, especially in developing markets like ours. The carmaker that used to sell in double digits in India before the Urus went on sale, is witnessing over threefold sales growth since the super SUV was launched and the demand hasn't come only from big metro cities. In fact, Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities have been contributing significantly to Lamborghini India's sales, attributing as much as 25 per cent to its overall annual volumes.

Speaking to carandbike, Lamborghini India Head- Sharad Agarwal said, "Our target audience has changed. From a third or fourth gen business family is now a second gen or even a 1st gen entrepreneur and even women are taking a keen interest in the brand and we are seeing a lot of purchasing that's happening from not just metros but different areas of the country. Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities like Indore, Surat, Madurai have been some of the hot spots for us as there's a good amount of demand coming in from these markets. Four to five years ago demand from these Tier 1 - 2 markets was in single digits but now where we stand it has gone up to 25 per cent and that's a big spike. This also goes to show how popular brand Lamborghini is in India."
