Mahindra XUV500 Gets Apple Carplay Now

- Apple CarPlay is only available with the W11 trim of the Mahindra XUV500
- The XUV500 is the only the 3rd Mahindra car to get Apple CarPlay
- The Mahindra XUV500 gets both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay now
The Mahindra XUV500 has finally been updated with the Apple CarPlay connectivity system. Introduced only in the top-end W11 variant, the XUV500 now comes with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, the former was added to the SUV back in 2017. In fact, up until now, the Mahindra XUV500 was the only SUV in this segment to not get Apple CarPlay, also it's only the third SUV in the company's line-up to get this feature, after the Mahindra XUV300 and Marazzo. Based on AWD, automatic transmission, and optional features, the W11 variant alone comes in five iterations. While Mahindra hasn't announced any revision in pricing, as per the company's website, the W11 trim is priced from Rs. 17.6 lakh to Rs. 18.52 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Now with Apple CarPlay, Mahindra XUV500 customers with an iPhone can connect their phone to the car and gain access to hands-free telephony, Apple Music audiobooks, podcasts and CarPlay supported third-party audio applications. The CarPlay automatically pulls all the necessary information from the user's iPhone and organises it into a simple UI that appears just when required on the infotainment system. Users also have access to Apple iPhone's speech recognition programme, Siri. So, with the integrated steering controls and voice-activated functions, there is a minimal distraction and the driver can stay focused on the road.

Veejay Ram Nakra, Chief of Sales and Marketing - Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra, said, "At Mahindra, our vehicle offers consumers Accessible Technologies. The introduction of Apple CarPlay enhances the convenience & connectivity offered by the XUV500 and will generate a lot of interest among our potential customers. To delight our customers, we will provide this update to existing owners of the W11 variant as well. They can visit a Mahindra authorised workshop to get their infotainment system upgraded with Apple CarPlay."
In addition to Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, the Mahindra XUV500 now also gets other connected features like - Connected Apps, Emergency Call and Ecosense. Early this year Mahindra also introduced a new base variant of the XUV500, the W3 trim, priced at Rs. 12.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
