Maintaining the Car Engine- Everything you must know!

- Fastest record of removing & replacing a car engine is just 42 seconds!
- There are four different types of engines that are used in cars
- The world's highest revving engine is the 2008 Ariel Atom 500.
The engine is one of the most important parts of a car as it provides the essential power to keep the car performing optimally. Therefore, it is extremely important to ensure timely maintenance of the engine to keep it in top running condition. Without proper maintenance, the engine will break down, and the car will be rendered unusable. In addition, ignoring the warning signs can lead to issues like improper ignition and engine misfiring.

Change oil at regular intervals
Changing the oil regularly is one of the easiest ways to maintain the engine. The oil keeps the engine well-lubricated. Keep track of the oil level in an engine so that the engine always performs at an optimal level.

Checking the cooling system
Proper levels of coolant are necessary. A lot of heat is generated during combustion, and the alloys/metals get severely heated up. The coolants cool down the engine parts so that they work properly.
Replace the wires and spark plugs
The spark plugs are responsible for igniting the fuel to burn. Unfortunately, these spark plugs get damaged over time, and the best way to fix these is by replacing them periodically. Often, proper cleaning of spark plugs can work wonders for the engine's performance.
Replacing the fuel filter
The filter is one of the most important parts of the engine. It prevents unwanted dirt and particles from entering the combustion chamber. If the filter gets clogged, the engine cannot generate enough power.

Checking the engine light
The engine light is an important indicator for any issues that might plague the engine. If the engine lights keep showing up, get the car checked immediately. The engine lights can mean the airflow sensors aren't working, so it's important to note that.
Checking the belts
If the driver hears squeals from under the hood, it's time to check out the rubber belts. The rubber belts are important for the rotating parts of the engine. Unfortunately, these belts can develop cracks and signs of wear and tear over time.
Checking for leaks
After parking the car, look for fuel spots on the pavement. If there are spots present, that might mean the fuel is leaking. It's time to take the car to the mechanic and find a fix for the leaks.
Prevent using the car on reserve fuel
Some junks/sediments get deposited in the engine. Over the years, these sediments start depositing at a greater level. When the car runs on low fuel, the engine pulls in more unwanted particles. These can lead to improper ignition that can cause problems for the cars.
Regular engine maintenance is the only way to ensure that it keeps performing at the optimal level.
