Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Receives 53,000 Bookings Ahead Of Launch

Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the Grand Vitara in India this month and before having announced the price of the car, the company has already received 53,000 bookings. The company had opened bookings for the SUV on July 11 and just over a month later, we can see a big demand for the car. The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will be built in Toyota’s Karnataka plant and while we do not yet know the annual capacity for the car, it’s very clear that the company will need to ramp up production from the word go, given the strong demand for the SUV. In fact, the company has received 22,000 bookings for the strong hybrid, showing the customers inclination towards green mobility in a way. The higher percentage of bookings remains with the mild hybrid.

The Grand Vitara name makes a comeback to the Indian market and it’s a launch a lot of people have been waiting for. The new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will enter the hotly contested compact SUV segment in India this festive season and will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor as well as its sibling, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder in our market. It will be offered with a mild-hybrid and a strong hybrid powertrain options, and the company is claiming it to be India's most fuel efficient SUV.
