Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Petrol Model To Be Launched Next Year

- It might be launched by April, 2017
- It will be priced lesser than the diesel models
- At present, there is a 7-8 month waiting period on the Vitara Brezza
Spurred on by Vitara Brezza's success, Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch a petrol variant of the same by April 2017. From what we hear, Maruti Suzuki might use the 1.0-litre Boosterjet engine, which also does duty on the soon-to-be-launched Baleno RS.
There is absolutely no doubt that the Vitara Brezza is somewhat of a best-seller for Maruti Suzuki in India. The company was fairly late in entering the sub-compact SUV segment, but once it did, it garnered a huge amount of sales and praise. The Vitara Brezza was launched earlier this year in March with a single engine variant, the 1.3-litre Multijet unit, producing 89bhp@4,000rpm and max torque of 200Nm@1,750rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission unit.
(Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Rear)Maruti Suzuki has sold over 50,000 units of the Vitara Brezza and has garnered bookings for more than 1 lakh units. At present, there is a 7-8 month waiting period on the Vitara Brezza. It was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo, generating a lot of buzz. You can read our review of the Vitara Brezza here.
At present, the prices for the Vitara Brezza start from Rs. 7.19 lakh to Rs. 9.88 lakh. As is the practice, the petrol variants will be priced lower than the diesel variants. Some of the standout features in the Vitara Brezza include a smartphone compatible infotainment system, reverse-parking camera, cruise control, ABS and airbags, projector headlamps and electric ORVMs as well.
