MV Agusta to Sell Bikes in India; Ties Up With Kinetic Group

Considering the growing demand for 600cc+ motorcycles in the country, Italian superbike maker MV Agusta has tied up with Pune-based Kinetic group to sell its products in India. To be priced between Rs. 12 lakh to Rs. 33 lakh, the entire MV Agusta range will be sold here; the first product is scheduled to be launched in November, 2015. The Pune-based company will also set up MV Agusta showrooms across top Indian cities to retail the motorcycle range and also offer after-sales support.
"We are really excited to be bringing these extraordinary machines to India for riders who demand the utmost performance from their bikes," said Ajinkya Firodia, managing director - Kinetic World.
MV Agusta's current global portfolio features bikes like the Brutale, Rivale, F3, Turismo Veloce, and the F4 - all of which might come to India within the next 2-3 years.
"Kinetic can launch any or all of these motorcycles in India over the next 2-3 years, with the first launch slated for November 2015," the company said in a statement. It also informed that a team of engineering experts has already started working on homologation and other required formalities to launch the first Agusta motorcycle in the country while the dealership network is also being setup.
Interestingly, the Pune-based group had quit the two-wheeler segment last year by selling off its remaining stake in Mahindra Two Wheelers to Samena Capital for about Rs. 182.1 crore. The tie-up with MV Agusta will, thus, mark the group's re-entry into the two-wheeler segment.
