New-Gen Royal Enfield Bullet 350 Spied Testing Ahead of Debut

- New Bullet 350 to be powered by new J-Series engine
- Design features minimal changes over the current Bullet 350
- Will sit on a new dual cradle frame
With the new meteor 350 and Classic 350 now on sale, it was only a matter of time before Royal Enfield would launch the new Bullet 350. Now a test mule of the bike has been spotted out on the road revealing a design that’s changed very little. As with the Classic 350, Royal Enfield is sticking close to the tried and tested design of the current model with the heavily retro-inspired design replete with round light clusters, round mirrors and tear-drop shape fuel tank.
The big change though is set to be under the skin. The new Bullet 350 will get the same underpinnings as the new meteor 350 and Classic 350 meaning that it gets a new dual-cradle frame and the new J-Series engine. The new 349cc, single cylinder J-Series unit develops 20.2 bhp at 6,100 rpm, and 27 Nm at 4,000 rpm in the Classic 350 and is expected to be available in the same tune in the new Bullet. Expect Royal Enfield to discontinue the current UCE 350 powered Classic 350 in India in the coming months.
The new Bullet continues to features the gauge cluster integrated into the top of the headlamp cowling with a pair of pilot lights sitting to the top and side of the headlamp. The tail lamp appears to be more circular than the current Bullet’s more square shape stop light. The single piece seat features a prominent step up for the pillion and a neatly integrated grab handle. The pea-shooter style exhaust too is retained as on the Classic 350. A noticeable exclusion was the kick-starter system suggesting that the new model will get electric start as standard.
While the test mule only featured a smidgen of chrome, expect the production model to feature more prominent use of chrome in places such as the engine and exhaust. The model is also expected to retain the brand’s trademark Madras stripes (pin striping) on the fuel tank and other body panels.
