Paris Motor Show 2016: Infiniti debuts The QX Sport Inspiration Concept

- The QX Sport Inspiration Concept was first shown at Beijing Motor Show
- It has a ground clearance of 230mm
- There is no word on specifications
Earlier in 2016, Infiniti first revealed its QX Sport Concept at the Beijing Motor Show, which was touted to be direct competition to the likes of BMW X3 and so on. The QX Inspiration that is on show at Paris is slightly different from the one that was shown in Beijing. The matte grey paint, larger 22-inch aluminium alloys and low profile tyres are the differentiating points. Infiniti believes that the QX Sport Inspiration is its vision for a next-gen premium mid-sized SUV. When it does come into production, it will replace the ageing QX50.
(Infiniti QX Sport Inspiration Concept- dashboard)One can make out that the headlamps on the QX Sport Inspiration Concept are inspired from the Q30 hatchback. The grille up front gets a solid dose of chrome and stands out too. With a ground clearance of 230mm, Infiniti says that the QX Sport Inspiration Concept can tackle a bit of bad terrain as well. The overall design language of the QX Sport Inspiration draws inspiration from Infiniti's 'Powerful Elegance' form, which include the company's signature double-arch grille along with the 'human eye' headlamps and 'crescent-cut' pillars. In an interesting move, the wing mirrors have been replaced by reversing cameras.

Right behind a flat-bottom steering wheel is a digital display that replaces the convention twin-pod console. The dashboard features a colour display as well. the interior does feel a little too production like, rather than something outrageous or over the top, so it might be possible that the insides on the production version remain more or less similar to the concept version. Infiniti believes that, with the QX Sport Inspiration, it will have the potential to expand its mid-size SUV portfolio, which is also one of the biggest and fastest growing segments in the world.
