Renault Duster 4x4 Likely to be Launched in September, 2014

Keeping our promise of bringing you the latest from the world of automobiles, here's a news that is bound to excite everyone alike. Our sources claim Renault India might launch the four-wheel drive version of its compact SUV, Duster, in September. Since the 4x4 will be positioned as the top-end variant of the line-up, it is likely to be based upon the RxZ diesel variant that is currently the most expensive Duster variant.
Powering the Duster 4x4 will be the same 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine that churns out a maximum power output of 108.5bhp and 248Nm of peak torque. Also, power to all four wheels of the car will be transmitted via a 6-speed manual gearbox. While the company has 4x4 versions in both, petrol and diesel, in international markets, the Indian market is expected to receive only the diesel AWD (All-wheel drive).
Like we said before, the 4x4 model will be based on the top-end RxZ disel variant, so, expect this model to come loaded with all the features offered on the RxZ trim. We expected Renault to launch the facelifted model before the 4x4 version so that people would buy the car with an updated design, but turns out, the French automaker probably has a different strategy in mind.
