Renault Kwid Achieves 4 Lakh Sales Milestone In India

Adding another feather to its hat, Renault India has announced that the Kwid has surpassed the 4-lakh sales milestone in India. The entry-level hatchback has been a game-changing product from the French automaker ever since its launch in 2015. Sudhir Malhotra, Vice President - Sales & Marketing, Renault India, handed over the keys of the Kwid to the 400,000th customer. The updated MY2021 Kwid was launched in India in September as a part of the brand's 10th-anniversary celebration.

The updated 2021 Renault Kwid was launched in India in September 2021
The Renault Kwid is priced from Rs. 4.11 lakh onwards, going up to Rs. 5.56 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The model received revised features, a new colour option and improved safety features over the previous model. It comes with a split headlamp set up, LED daytime running lamps, LED taillights and alloy wheels. On the inside, the car is loaded with features like an 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, LED instrument cluster, and more.
The Renault Kwid is offered with a choice of two petrol engines - 0.8-litre and 1.0-litre. While the former develops 53 bhp and 72 Nm of peak torque, the latter is good for 67 bhp and 91 Nm of peak torque. Both engines are paired with the 5-speed manual gearbox. Meanwhile, the 1.0-litre engine is also paired with a 5-speed AMT unit. It competes against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, Hyundai Santro and the Datsun Redi-GO.
