Rimac Concept_One finds takers and funds

We first saw Rimac Concept _One at the 2011 Frankfurt Motorshow. Brought to life by a Croation startup and styled by a team of designers who once worked with Pininfarnia, the Concept_One surpassed the expectations of on lookers on two counts. The first being that it was a supercar that looked absolutely gorgeous and the other being that it was all-electric.

It's been three years now and the people at Rimac have been trying to put together the moolah to put the Concept_One through production (limited as it may be) and they have finally managed to get things organised. Thanks to some advanced customer orders and other sources, the Concept_One will be seen on the road soon.

The Rimac Concept_One is an all-electric supercar which, on paper, can rip apart the likes of the Bugatti Veyron. It comes with a 91kWh Lithium ion phosphate battery pack which punches out 1088bhp all on its own. The body is a carbon fibre monocoque with integrated battery-pack and weighs in at 1950kgs.

Because of this reduction of weight, the Concept_One can sprint from 0-100km/h in 2.8 seconds which is impressive for an electric car. Rimac says that a full charge can give a realistic range of 500km. All these figures are surely impressive on paper but we would love to see how it does on road.
