Royal Enfield Hunter 350 Production Model Revealed In Spy Shots

Royal Enfield has been testing its third 350cc bike, the new Hunter 350 for a while now and it's been spied on the road on multiple occasions. Now in the latest images of the bike, the motorcycle is seen in final production spec in what looks to be at a dealer yard suggesting that a launch could be just around the corner. Two motorcycles are visible one wrapped partially in bubble wrap while the other is completely uncovered.
The image reveals that the Hunter 350 will come in two distinct variants one with alloy wheels and what looks to be more detailed tank graphics and a more entry level model with wire-spoke wheels. The wire spoke wheel variant gets a simpler paint finish with a small Royal Enfield logo on the tank. The alloy-wheel model meanwhile has the word ‘Royal’ spelt out in a cursive font with Enfield likely written on the opposing side. The Hunter 350 badging is visible on the panel under the seat. The seat features ribbing on the front section and gets split grab handles for the pillion rider.
The upswept exhaust, front fork and engine are finished in black. The fuel tank while bearing the classic teardrop shape has a prominent flattened section from near the rider to the centre likely to enhance rider comfort and grip. Also visible is the single off-set dial on the handlebar with tripper navigation likely being an option.
While the specifications of the motorcycle are still to be officially revealed, a type approval document reveals that the bike will be the smallest and most compact model in Royal Enfield’s range. The motorcycle will be shorter than its 350cc siblings along with sitting on a shorter wheelbase as well as being lighter. The document reveals that the 350cc J-Series engine will develop an identical 20.2 bhp as it does in the Classic and Meteor with torque also likely to be a similar 27 Nm. The 5-speed gearbox is also likely to be retained from the Classic 350 and the Meteor 350.
Expected to launch early next month, the Hunter 350 will go up against the lieks of the Honda CB 350 RS, Jawa 42 and TVS Ronin. Expect prices to be in the region of Rs 1.70 lakh (ex-showroom) – below the Classic 350 and Meteor 350. Royal Enfield is also readying a new generation of the Bullet 350 which could arrive by next year.
