Vehicle registration details of RTO Delhi
Delhi is a big metropolitan city of India and it is also the country's capital. The city witnesses thousands of vehicles on its roads. There are different types of vehicles here including hundreds of heavy vehicles. RTO Delhi has enacted many rules and regulations for the registration of vehicles of Delhi. The car owners have to follow them. The first thing that you do after a car purchase is, get it registered at the transport office. You need to have the certificate of registration of your car or whatever vehicle you purchase from a showroom.

You must be aware of the fact that car registration is the first step after you purchase a new car. You need to apply for registration. You will visit the nearby RTO office and do the due process of registration. When you buy a vehicle from a showroom, registration and insurance formalities are done by the seller only. All you have got to do is sign on the dotted lines. The Registration process requires time, money, and lots of energy. It can turn out to be a big bother for you if you are not helped by an agent or the seller. The fees or the charges of registration may vary from state to state. Registration procedures and charges in Delhi are different from that of other cities or states. You should know the required documents, taxes for the road, and the RTO office location in Delhi.

Temporary Registration: it is the job of the dealer who sells you the car to provide you with a temporary registration.
Permanent Registration: after temporary registration, you require permanent registration of your vehicle.
Documents:
- Temporary registration papers
- For imported cars, clearance from the customs department
- Income Tax Clearance or declaration of income to the IT department.
- Form 21 for the certificate of sales
- Certificate of Road Worthiness in form 22. It is given by the manufacturer. Form 22A from the car bodybuilder in case the car has been fabricated.
- Fees to be deposited as mentioned in Rule 81
- Certificate of Insurance
- Aadhar Card
- Address proof
- Pollution Under Control Certificate
- PAN Card
- 3 copies of passport size photos
- For an ex-army vehicle, the sales certificate is to be in original in form 21.
Car registration charges
When it is about paying the charges for registration of a car, you should be prepared with registration charges and other fees. Car registration charges in Delhi are:
Charges of registration: Rs600 for your car regardless of its value.
Hypothecation cost: Rs1500 is the charge if the car has been bought on loan.
Cost of Number Plate: the cost varies from200 to 500
Charges for state development: The charge is Rs 2000 for a vehicle of below 4 lakh. The charge for vehicles that are priced above Rs. 2,00,000 is Rs 4000.
The temporary registration charge is between Rs. 1200 and Rs. 1500. It has one-month validity.
Road Tax: This tax ranges between 4 per cent and 15 per cent. For non-company vehicles, the road tax varies between 4 per cent and 15 per cent and for company vehicles the upper limit is 12.5 per cent.
Fast-Tag cost varies from Rs. 500 to Rs. 600. This charge is payable while purchasing the vehicle.
