  • The Ignis Adventure comes with visual updates and personalisation options
  • The UK-spec Suzuki Ignis is powered by a 1.2 Litre Dualjet petrol engine

Suzuki Great Britain has recently introduced a special edition model of the company's compact hatch - Suzuki Ignis. Christened as 'Suzuki Ignis Adventure', the car is based on the top-end Suzuki Ignis SZ-T variants and comes with a selection of the most popular and distinctive personalisation options. Suzuki will be making the Ignis Adventure in limited numbers and the company is offering four colour options - Fervent Red (Solid paint), Boost Blue Pearl, Pure White Pearl, and Super Black Pearl as optional metallic colours. The special edition Ignis Adventure has officially gone on sale in the country at £13,999 which is about Rs. 12.01 lakh, with the personalisation kit.

Visually, the car looks like a well-kitted version of the standard Suzuki Ignis, especially with the new paint scheme and add-on equipment. Each of these new vibrant body colour is coupled with contract pinstripes that run along the shoulder line, foglamps, and the new bumpers. Like the ST-Z variant, the Adventure model also gets roof rails, and similar taillamps.

As mentioned earlier, being based on the Suzuki Ignis SZ-T variant, the Adventure models get the same features as the former. The SZ-T trims standard offerings include - rearview camera, 16-inch alloy wheels, roof rails and individually sliding rear seats. In addition to these features, the Adventure model comes with offerings like - rear spoiler, side mouldings, front and rear skid plates, coloured front grille centre bar, side decal set and colour keyed front fog lamp bezels.

Mechanically, the Suzuki Ignis Adventure remains completely unchanged. Under the hood, the UK-spec Suzuki Ignis is powered by a 1.2 Litre Dualjet petrol engine that makes about 89 bhp that comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The Ignis has quite a bit of popularity in the Indian market as well and knowing Maruti Suzuki India, which has a penchant for introducing special edition models, we might get similar to this in India as well in near future. The India-spec model right now comes with both petrol and diesel units - an 82 bhp 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine and a 74 bhp 1.3-litre DDiS diesel motor. Both mills come paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and optional AMT units as well.
