The BMW 1-Series Gets a Thorough Facelift

The car from the BMW that was in dire need of a facelift was the 1-series. Though this might be an opinion, it is the truth and even the Bavarian car manufacturer realized that and that is why has brought out the massively facelifted 1-Series.
The car will make its way to India soon but the company unveiled the car at the Geneva Motor Show. The 1-series now looks better and more refined than its predecessor because it has borrowed many a styling cues from the 2-Series family. The headlights have been heavily revised and are now slimmer, more angular and with a sporty eyebrow that gives the front-end a more unified look.
At an additional cost, the BMW 1-Series can be configured with LED headlights or adaptive LED headlights featuring a High Beam Assistant function as well as cornering LED fog lights. The rear end comes with reshaped taillights also benefiting from LEDs arrangement with L-shaped graphics.

BMW has also revised the cabin of the 1-series and it now packs a 6.5-inch central display, a center console-mounted Controller unit and an optional 8.8-inch screen with navigation. There are new upholstery options, chrome surrounds for the buttons & knobs along with glossy black details.
BMW has also made some revisions to the engine lineup but these will be made in the Euro-spec cars. However, India might get to see the range-topping M135i which will come with a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder engine which churns out 326 horsepower and develops 450 Nm of torque.

The RWD version runs the 0-100 km/h sprint in 5.1 seconds (six-speed manual) or in 4.9 seconds (eight-speed auto) whereas the xDrive M135i needs 4.7 seconds and works exclusively with the auto.
