Volvo S60 Cross Country to Launch on March 11, 2016

The 2016 Volvo S60 Cross Country which broke cover at the Geneva Motor Show has been confirmed to arrive on Indian shores on March 11, 2016. Upon its launch, the S60 Cross Country will become the first new car launched by the Swedish carmaker this year.

Volvo S60 Cross Country Front
Based on the standard S60 sedan, the Cross Country is a beefed up crossover capable of tackling rough road conditions. The car will come equipped with 18- or 19-inch wheels and boasts of a ride height that's 65mm higher up than the standard S60. Volvo may also offer an AWD system with the S60 Cross Country depending on the powertrain. Internationally, the car is available with 3 engine options including a 2.5-litre petrol, a 2.0-litre and a 2.4-litre diesel of which the AWD option is available on the 2.5- and 2.4-litre engine variants. India is likely to receive the 5-cylinder 2.4-litre D4 turbodiesel mill that currently sits in the S60 as well, albeit with AWD. Expect power output to be around 180bhp. Transmission duties will be performed by a 6-speed autobox.

Volvo S60 Cross Country Rear
The muscular and tall-standing sedan crossover is likely to come in at a slight premium over the standard Volvo S60. Interior layout and features will likely be borrowed from the top-of-the-line S60, which includes Volvo On Call, Sensus Connect and Navigation, Park Assist Pilot, as well as top-notch safety features, which is something that the brand has become synonymous with ever since it opened up its patent to the 3-point seat belt citing the reason that it was too significant an invention to monetize.
