Weird Cars from Around the World

- About 60 million cars are produced every year around the world!
- Currently, over 1 billion cars are being used by people worldwide.
- The first car in the world was the Benz Patent-Motorwagen.
Uniqueness is an attribute that car manufacturers actively work towards in a highly competitive market. Only when the car is unique will it stay popular with people for a long time. But this can lead to car manufacturers producing some truly strange creations that border on bizarre. These cars are not unique in a positive way – rather, there is something off about them.

1911 Reeves-Overland Octoauto
Want to know what was weird about this car? Take a hint from the name. This car had 8 wheels! This resulted in an expensive 20 feet long car that could only house 4 people.
1933 Dymaxion
This is one of the few three-wheeled cars that the world has seen. The thing was built like a submarine. However, it is believed that it was built backward. The thing would've driven aerodynamics researchers nuts since the design wasn't suited for driving.

1930 Stout Scarab
Imagine the 1933 Dymaxion but on 4 wheels. That is a pretty accurate way to describe the design. Its legacy has to do with the fact that this car offered no visibility. This is believed to be the world's first functional minivan.
1950 BMW Isetta 300
This three-wheeled car was one of the best-selling single-cylinder cars globally. However, the size was extremely small, and people had difficulty getting in and out of the vehicle. In addition, it had a seating capacity for two individuals.
1961 Amphicar
This would've been a staple in spy movies if it functioned properly. The thing was meant to be half-car, half-boat, yet it performed neither of those roles properly. The production was stopped in 1963.

1968 Oldsmobile Quality Coach Jetway 707
This 28-feet long behemoth gave the earliest idea of what a limousine was supposed to look like. This thing was extremely long and contained a lot of wind panels.
1970 Bond Bug
Another one of those 3 wheeled beauties, this happens to be the best British three-wheeled car. The car had no doors; however, people said that it was fun to drive around in this car.
1984 Nissan Pulsar RX
This was pretty popular during the few years after the launch. What's bizarre is the car's look with diagonals that made the car stand out.
1990 Toyota Sera
This one had butterfly doors. The doors weren't built in the traditional sense – they were hinged to the top part of the windshield. The roof was canopy-shaped, not like other cars during that time!
2013 Youabian Puma
People weren't sure what they were witnessing when this model was unveiled. It looks like a normal convertible except that it has monster truck wheels. Unfortunately, the creator, Dr. Kambiz Youabian, sold only 3 of these for it underperformed horribly.
With such interesting or rather bizarre cars made available at one point in time, it can not be ruled out that you might get to see some more bizarre inventions in the future.
