Maintenance Tips For Your Car This Summer

- Check your car's belts and hoses for any damage.
- Replace or top up the oil in your car.
- Check the windshield wipers for any damage.
Radiators that leak, dirty filters, hoses that are cracked, and tyres that are underinflated are all problems you can face in June. It can, in turn, lead to fuel inefficiency or even breakdown. Some tips to keep your car healthy and well maintained are listed below. Let's dive in!

Check the tyres
One of the most neglected parts of the car is the tyres. Only a few people take care of their tyres as they should. If your tyres are worn out, over-inflated, or underinflated, it can be very dangerous in the hot month of June.
The tyre pressure changes with changes in the temperature. Check your tyres' air pressure and sidewalls. Check that the treads are deep enough to have enough traction on the road so that your car does not skid.
Change the oil and filter.
The lifeblood is the oil in your car. It helps your engine stay lubricated and run smoothly. Most cars need their oil changed every 12,500-15,000 km. However, some oil specialists say that you need to change the oil every three months or 5,000 km. We all drive a lot during the summer, and it is best to keep a check on the engine oil before driving. Dip the dipstick and see if the colour of the oil is appropriate and whether the oil level is up to the mark. If the colour is dark, then it needs replacement due to grime and dirt. If the level is low, then it needs a top-up.

Examine the belts and hoses.
You need to check that the hoses and belts are in top shape. The radiator has hoses that connect the pump coolant to the engine block. The belts help run the fan and keep the system cool. Your car's radiator can overheat and breakdown if the belts snap or the hoses crack.
Check and ensure that there are no leaks, cracks, or loose connections. The hoses should never be malleable or soft and should always be firm.
Check the belts for damage or cracks. If the belt is too slim or smooth, remove it and check whether it is in fine condition.
Replace the wipers
The winter season takes a toll on your car and the wipers. A lot of snow accumulates on the windshield, and your wipers work overtime to take it off. Ensure that your wipers are in top shape and get them replaced if they are not.
