Get Out Of The Vehicle
The first thing to do is to escape out of the vehicle. Even if there is a minor accident, we recommend leaving the vehicle for your safety. Turn on the hazard lights or set up emergency triangles to indicate passing cars. Keep in mind to carefully get out of the car after an accident. If the incident has occurred on a busy street or a highway, cars might be going at a flashing speed.

Contact The Police
Be it a minor or a major accident, it is essential to inform the police. Another thing to note is that the police might not always respond to minor accidents immediately. If the police arrive at the spot, note down the officer's name and contact information. Also, get a copy of the accident report from them. If the police don't arrive at the scene, you can get a copy of the report from law enforcement.
Check For Injuries
Before everything else, your safety and health should be your priority. Check yourself for any cuts, swelling, or bruises. Make sure to check for injuries for other passengers on board. If you have children riding in the car at that time, make sure to soothe them and thoroughly check them. If anyone is injured, get immediate medical assistance.

Document The Scene
One of the most worrying parts of a car accident can be financial expenses. If you want to claim insurance and save yourself from the financial burden, smoothly document the scene. Take images of the scene and cover every angle of your vehicle. Take close-up images of your vehicle and damage to any other part. You can also create a voice memo on your phone to dictate the details of the incident.
Tow Your Vehicle, If Needed
Once you've documented the scene, you might need to tow your vehicle. For minor accidents, towing might not be mandatory. You can drive to the nearest repair shop in case of a minor dent. On the other hand, you'll need roadside assistance if your vehicle is not in working condition.
