Yamaha Saluto RX 110cc Commuter Bike Launched; Priced at Rs. 46,400

Yamaha Motor India has launched the new Saluto RX 110cc motorcycle in the country, priced at Rs. 46,400 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Japanese bike maker's new entry-level motorcycle replaces the now defunct Crux and YBR in the company's lineup and also revives the iconic RX moniker that was once seen on the two-stroke RX100.

While retaining the design language from the Saluto 125, the new Yamaha Saluto RX draws power from a 110cc 4-stroke, 2-valve, single-cylinder engine that is tuned to produce 7.4bhp of power at 7000rpm and 8.5Nm of torque at 4500rpm. The motorcycle comes paired to a 4-speed gearbox.

Yamaha says the engine, frame and wheels have comprehensive weight reducing designs that contribute to the overall fuel efficiency and helps the model tip the scales at a kerb weight of 98 kg. As a result, the Saluto RX is lighter by 22 kg, compared to the previous models from Yamaha in this segment.

The Yamaha Saluto RX is also quite fuel efficient courtesy of the light weight and returns a claimed mileage of 82 kmpl. In terms of mechanicals, the bike comes with telescopic front forks, twin rear shock absorbers, drum brakes at the front and rear as well as an analog instrument cluster. The motor also comes with the manufacturer's Blue Core technology that is currently seen on Yamaa's bigger motorcycles.
