2015 Formula Ford Announced

Ford has announced that the 2015 Formula Ford will comply with Formula 4 regulations and guidelines. MSA, the governing body of Motorsports in Britain confirmed that Ford will create and develop a new race series which will provide a stage for young drivers looking to progress to Formula 1.
To meet the FOA F3 safety standards, Ford will adopt the new carbon-fibre monocoque. The cars will be powered by Fords 1.6 EcoBoost engine, a semi-automatic paddle shift gearbox and racing slicks.
Gerard Quinn, Head of Ford Racing in Europe said, "We are very pleased that many months of work has brought us to the point today where we can announce our plans for the long-term future of Formula Ford"
Formula Ford started in 1967 and by 1971 it organized 7 championships across Europe, USA and Brazil. Known F1 drivers from the world of Formula Ford include the likes of Ayrton Senna, Nigel Mansell, Michael Schumacher, James Hunt and even Jenson Button.
The 2015 Formula Ford car will begin testing later this year and the technical details of the car will be disclosed soon enough.
