Geneva Motor Show: Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 Unveiled

Automobili Lamborghini has unveiled the all new Huracan LP 610-4 at the on-going Geneva Motor Show. Priced at 169,500 Euro (around Rs. 1.45 crore) excluding taxes, the Huracan's deliveries will start in spring 2014. The Huracan LP 610-4 replaces the Gallardo, which with 14,022 units produced is the most successful Lamborghini ever made. (Lamborghini Huracan in pictures)
The newly conceived hybrid chassis of the Huracan LP 610-4 is a technical work of art that unites carbon-fibre and aluminium components. The light chassis form the basis for the vehicle's low dry weight of 1,422 kgs; with its excellent stiffness, it has been claimed to offer the handling precession of a racing car. The Hurcan LP 610-4 sources its power from a naturally aspirated V10 engine with 5.2-litre displacement, which belts out a massive 610bhp.
The engine now combines direct and indirect injection systems, which has helped the engine return an increased power and torque, compared with the Gallardo, and decrease fuel consumption and emissions.
With the power-to-weight ratio of just 2.33 kilograms/horsepower, the Huracan accelerate to 100kmph from rest in mere 3.2 seconds, with a top-speed of more than 325kmph. Thanks in part to the Stop & Start technology, ECE average fuel consumption has dropped to 12.5 liters per 100 km (290 g CO2 per km).
Transmitting power to all four wheels of the vehicle is the new 7-speed dual-clutch transmission "Lamborghini Doppia Frizione" (LDF). The all-wheel drive system also features a new hydraulic multi-plate clutch. The Huracan LP 610-P can be driven in three driving modes, spanning from road to race track, can be selected using a drive select switch in the steering wheel. Lamborghini calls it ANIMA- "Adapative Network Intelligent Management" system, which impacts the engine, transmission, all-wheel drive and the ESC handling system.
