Updated Ford EcoSport Goes On Sale in the UK

Ford, the American carmaker, that is facing a tough time selling the EcoSport sub-compact SUV in the UK market, has now launched the updated EcoSport there. The 2016 EcoSport is now available with "improved styling, dynamics and refinement". The company has also announced the pricing of the vehicle, it now starts from £14,245 and the deliveries will commence in October.
The updated model comes without the rear-mounted spare wheel, instead Ford is now offering a tire mobility kit as standard while the rear swing-gate design too has been revised for the easier access to the boot space with partial opening. That said, people interested in buying the vehicle with the rear-mounted spare wheel will have an option to buy that as well. The updated Ford EcoSport's cabin, too, receives some changes such as a charcoal black lower instrument panel, centre console and door boards. The vehicle's instrument cluster now gets a light dimming function and chrome-surround rings. The vehicle also gets privacy glass as a standard features, while the top-of-the-line trim - Titanium - additionally gets partial leather seats.

The company says that the vehicle's suspension, electronic stability programme and electronic power assisted steering have been tuned for improved handling and control. The company has also reduced the vehicle's height by 10mm that lowers the EcoSport's centre of gravity to further improve its handling. To better vehicle's refinement levels, the company has used deadening materials in the doors and dashboard along with tightening sales around the pedals.
The vehicle's 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine too has been tuned for about 5bhp more power. It now churns out a maximum power output of 94bhp.
