Verdict

The Mahindra Scorpio-N is one of the biggest generational upgrades the model has ever received. While the design plays it safe, the improvements beneath the skin are significant. Ride quality, steering feel and overall refinement have all improved dramatically, transforming the Scorpio from a rugged utility SUV to a much more balanced family vehicle. At the same time, it still has the ladder frame construction and four-wheel-drive capability that many buyers expect from the badge.

The Scorpio-N may not be the most luxurious SUV in its segment, but when it comes to buyers who value road presence, capability and a strong mechanical foundation, it is one of the most compelling options in its class.

The recent updates modernised the cabin more, bringing in some stunning screens, advanced safety tech, and premium materials that exude ‘flagship’ status. The lack of boot space with all seats up is a noticeable drawback. Even then, you get a highly refined alternative in the new turbo-petrol engine. Overall, it’s one safe and tough family SUV that commands respect on the road.
