2018 Harley-Davidson Softail Deluxe And Softail Low Rider Launched

Harley-Davidson India has launched two new motorcycle models in the 2018 Softail range - the Harley-Davidson Softail Deluxe and the Harley-Davidson Softail Low Rider. The Softail Deluxe has been priced at Rs. 17.99 lakh, while the Softail Low Rider has been launched at Rs. 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Both bikes will join the 2018 Harley-Davidson Softail range, which already has four new models which were introduced last year - the Harley-Davidson Fat Boy, the Heritage Softail, the Fat Bob and Street Bob. The entire 2018 Softail range gets the new 107 Milwaukee-Eight V-twin engine.
Like the new Softail models launched last year, both the new models also features an all-new chassis, new underseat hidden monoshock, and the four-valve per cylinder, 107 cubic inches, or 1,745 cc, Milwaukee-Eight engine, which makes 148 Nm of peak torque. Unlike the larger 114 Milwaukee-Eight, the smaller, 107 engines uses dual counterbalancer to make the engine more refined and smooth in operation. That same engine already does duty on the rest of the 2018 Softail range.

The 2018 Harley-Davidson Softail Deluxe follows vintage styling cues, with bright, polished stainless steel and chrome accents and lends the classic American cruiser theme to the 2018 Softail family. The Softail Deluxe gets full skirted steel fenders, white-wall tyres, chrome laced wheels, classic pull-backed cruiser handlebar and unique neo-retro LED lights. The Softail Deluxe follows a nostalgic cruiser design yet with a completely modern engine and chassis. A signature Daymaker LED headlight sits up front with 'winged' LED turn signals front and rear. Suspension is handled by the Showa Dual Bending Valve fork at the front and a single, concealed underseat shock at the rear, maintaining a hardtail look.
In terms of design, the Softail Low Rider gets dual tank mounted gauges, headlight visor and the 70's inspired tank graphics that carry forward the Low Rider design cues. The headlight visor till the exhaust gets all chrome styling, while the bold aluminium wheels stay true to the classic lineage.
The Softail Deluxe is powered by the same 107 Milwaukee-Eight as the rest of the 2018 Harley-Davidson Softail range, which boasts of 10 per cent faster acceleration and dual counter-balancer for smooth, refined performance. The new chassis is a mild-steel tubular frame that has also been redesigned and is 65 per cent stiffer than the previous Softail frame. As with the rest of the 2018 Softail range, the new Softail Deluxe promises superior handling and more refined and better performance.
