One of the many things that Bollywood stars are known for is regularly refreshing their car collections. 2020 was a difficult year for everyone so there was not much activity on that front. However, 2021 saw these artists getting back into the groove and completing their unfinished projects. And this also apparently gave them enough time to add some new rides into their garages. Here are five Bollywood stars that made noticeable car purchases in 2021.
Sara Ali Khan – Mercedes G350D

After Ranbir Kapoor, it's Sara Ali Khan who has shown love for this unconventional Mercedes car. The G-Wagon is known for its unique boxy shape, which it gets because it has been derived from a military vehicle. The G350D model purchased by Sara may have cost her somewhere around Rs 1.3 crores. This retro-looking SUV comes with a 9-speed automatic gearbox and an engine that delivers 285 Ps and 600 Nm of peak torque.
Kartik Aaryan - Lamborghini Urus

The Urus is Lamborghini's first SUV in decades and has been well received in India, especially among Bollywood stars. While cricketer Rohit Sharma is also known to own one, Bollywood biggies like Ranveer Singh, Rajnikanth as well as Rohit Shetty, have the Urus in their respective garages. And it's now Kartik Aaryan's turn to drive this Italian mean machine on the streets of Mumbai.

Hyderabad's Jubilee Hills area is no stranger to Lamborghinis and 2021 saw one more being added to the fleet, even as Baahubali star Prabhas got hold of a new Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster. Priced at more than Rs 5 crores, this ride carries a naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12 engine that allows it to hit a top speed of 350 km/h. As far as acceleration goes, it can hit 100 km/h in just 3 seconds.
Ranveer Singh – Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600

Bollywood star Ranveer Singh was one of the first to buy this beauty shortly after it's launch in July. The actor gifted it to himself for his birthday in July. Done in a brilliant blue finish, the Maybach GLS comes with a 4.0 litre V8 turbo petrol engine with 558 bhp raw horse power. It is the epitome of luxury and performance, complete with an onboard refrigerator to store champagne. The car costs Rs 2.43 crores.
Anil Kapoor – Mercedes-Benz GLS

Anil Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap wreaked havoc on the screen with their brilliant performances in AK vs AK, which was released in December last year. A few months later, the actor was again in the news for gifting his wife a swanky new Mercedes-Benz GLS SUV for her birthday. This car joins a few other exciting rides that are also residing in his garage, like the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder and the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
Shahid Kapoor – BMW X7 M50d

The BMW X7 M50d is a full-sized crossover SUV with a host of luxury and safety features. The car, which was previously also purchased by Ajay Devgn, was added to the already diverse garage of Kabir Singh star Shahid Kapoor in 2021. This AWD seven-seater is propelled by a 2998cc quad-turbocharged engine, which dishes out 388 bhp of power and 760 Nm of peak torque.
As the year draws to a close, we are primed for some really exciting car launches in the year ahead. We wonder what surprising purchases we'll get to see from our Bollywood stars in 2022.
