India does have several affordable options for sedan buyers, especially those looking for midsized or compact options with good features and performance along with a compelling price tag. Here are the best options:

- Tata Tigor- The Tigor is the most affordable Indian sedan, with starting prices hovering at INR 5.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), similar to many mid-range hatchbacks in the country. It gets features like power steering, digital instrument console and more for the entry-level trim. Top-end variants are packed with features like a Harman audio unit, connectivity features, power windows, and more. The Tigor has a 4-star Global NCAP safety rating as well. It is priced up to INR 7.64 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
- Maruti Suzuki Dzire- The popular sedan is also one of the most affordable choices for buyers. It gets a 1.2 litre engine making 88.5 BHP and 113 Nm along with 5-speed AMT/manual choices. The Dzire has features like a SmartPlay infotainment unit, connectivity features, automatic headlamps,4.2 inch colour multi-information display (MID) and more for the top-end variants. It starts from a reasonable INR 5.94 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) onwards.
- Hyundai Aura- The Hyundai Aura offers 1.2 litre petrol, 1.2 litre diesel and 1.0 litre petrol turbocharged engines. Power outputs range between 74-99 BHP while torque figures hover between 114-190 Nm. The Aura gets decent features and attractive styling, while prices start from INR 5.92 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
- Honda Amaze- The Amaze is another popular sub-4m sedan with the highest boot space (420 litres), 1.2 litre petrol and 1.5 litre diesel engines, and features like a 7-inch infotainment unit, connectivity features, automatic climate control, and more. Prices start from INR 6.22 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
