The company said YunOS for cars is Alibaba Group's smart operating system tailor-made for the automotive industry.

Jack Ma, Executive Chairman, Alibaba Group, said, "Humans have made machines more intelligent in the past few decades. What we hope to achieve in the coming decades is to inject machines with human wisdom. Just as software programs have made the phone smarter today, YunOS will make cars an even more indispensable part of human life in the future society. Today marks the dawn of that new era. We feel proud and privileged to be playing a part in driving that change."

The new car promises advanced fuel technology, more powerful accelerator, lower oil consumption, and a shorter braking distance. Furthermore, the OS'Car RX5 also gets a myriad of inevntive features such as intelligent map, location tracking without WiFi or GPS, and automatic change in map zoom size based on the car speed. With audio being the primary principal mode for controlling the system, the car can also take direct commands via smart voice control.

The car, first to get an "Internet ID", can recognise the driver through connected smartphones or smartwatches and also facilitates personalised services such as greetings, preferred music, and destinations. It also comes decked with up to four detachable action cameras that allows users to not only record videos, but also take 360-degree in-car selfies which can be shared instantly via the connected smartphone.

Available in China, the OS'Car RX5 is priced between CNY 99,800 - CNY 186,800 (Rs. 10,07,240 - Rs. 18,85,295).
