All-New Audi Q7 Launched in Malaysia; Will Arrive in India Soon

The all-new Audi Q7 has been launched in Malaysia with a price tag of RM 589,900 (Rs. 91.06 lakh) for the 3.0 TFSI Quattro trim and is expected to be unveiled in India very soon. This is the second generation model of Audi's flagship SUV - which is also known as the Great Quattro - that was first introduced in 2005 and went on to pave the way for the complete Audi Q range of SUVs that now also includes the Q3 and Q5.
Immo Buschmann, Managing Director, Audi Malaysia, while introducing the new Audi Q7 in Kuala Lumpur said: "The original Audi Q7 was the living embodiment of Audi's quattro philosophy, combining the capability of an off-roader with comfort and utility of a family vehicle as well as the prestige and presence of a business sedan.
"The Audi Q7 is a game-changer not just for the brand, but for the entire premium SUV segment and I am confident that much like its predecessor, the Great Quattro will be a resounding success for Audi in Malaysia," he added.
The new Audi Q7 doesn't look too different from its predecessor but does have sculpted muscular lines and styling cues to make it look more powerful and lend it an aggressive stance. As for the dimensions, the new Q7 is 5,050mm long, 1,970mm wide and has a wheelbase of 2,990mm. Compared to the earlier model, the SUV is 37 mm shorter, 15 mm less wide and has a 12mm shorter wheelbase.
The SUV weighs up to 325kg less than its predecessor, thanks to Audi's intelligent use of lightweight construction, multi-material assembly and the strategic usage of aluminium components.
The flagship variant houses a 3.0 TFSI supercharged V6 engine with the permanent all-wheel drive quattro system that produces a maximum power of 333bhp and a peak torque of 440Nm at 2,900 to 5,300 rpm. The engine is mated to an 8-speed tiptronic automatic transmission.

The new Q7 can reach an electronically-governed top speed of 250Km/h with an acceleration from 0 to 100Km/h in only 6.3 seconds, which is 1.6 seconds faster than the previous model. As for the Indian version of the SUV, you can expect the diesel engine option (the 3.0 TDI, most likely) to be the hot-seller, although the technical specifications of that motor have not been disclosed by the carmaker yet.
As you would expect, the SUV is packed to the gills with features. It gets adaptive air suspension, LED headlamps with DRLs, 20-inch 10-spoke rims, heated and auto anti-glare wing mirrors, powered tailgate, park assist with surround view camera, 4-zone auto air conditioner, push button start, and electric front seats with 4-way lumbar and memory for the driver.

The Q7 also comes equipped with an infotainment system with features like MMI navigation plus with MMI touch, an 8.3-inch automated retractable central display, 3D map display, a touch sensitive panel with handwriting recognition, and 10 GB flash memory for music storage.
The new Audi Q7, which was showcased in December 2014 before making its debut at the 2015 NAIAS show in Detroit, is expected to be launched in India in December this year.
