Australia's NSW Police Force Recruits the Lexus RC F

Many a movie show the bad guys owning, rather driving some fantastic cars; supercars in fact, while the Police are left chasing them in their not-so-fancy mobiles. Well, some good guys too get a chance to get behind the wheels but I've never seen a police officer, in uniform, getting to enjoy the thrills of a supercar. That might be the picture painted for us on the big screen, but in reality, there's a vast difference.
Australia's NSW police added an interesting item to its police inventory and this one is powered by a V8. It's a Lexus RC in the mighty V8-powered F specification that will serve as a multi-purpose vehicle and will have an active role in roadside campaigns to promote road safety. This is not the first time we've seen a supercar make it to the Police fleet. The Dubai and Abu Dhabi Police force boast of the most enviable of collections and yes, all are operational and not just for display.

The RC F is a high-performance coupe and will be on active duty for Australia's NSW Police force. It has already made its public debut during the Bathurst Six Hour where it acted as a race control vehicle. Following which, the car will be shown at various other motorsport events. According to Lexus Australia Chief Executive, Peter McGregor, the car will play an important role to promote safety on the roads.

If you don't know what the Lexus RCF is all about, well it features a 5.0-litre V8 engine that develops 467 bhp and 526 Nm of torque. It is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission which enables the coupe to accelerate from 0-100km/h in 4.4 seconds, and has an electronically limited top speed of 273 km/h. The car costs a whopping 4 crore approximately but that doesn't stop it from being part of the cop car fleet, does it?
