Auto Expo 2018: Hero To Unveil 300 cc Bike

- The Hero XF3R concept was displayed at the Auto Expo 2016
- Hero may be ready with a production model of the 300 cc bike
- The 300 cc streetfighter will be the most powerful bike from Hero
Hero MotoCorp is expected to unveil the company's most powerful production motorcycle yet at the Auto Expo 2018. The bike is expected to be launched commercially by the end of the year, and will more or less resemble the Hero XF3R concept which was unveiled at the Auto Expo 2016. According to latest reports, the production spec model of the XF3R concept will be showcased at the Auto Expo 2018, and Hero MotoCorp is planning to launch the bike sometime towards the end of 2018.
At the last Auto Expo, Hero described the XF3R as the 'Design Concept Vehicle' and the bike uses a steel trellis frame with a sporty streetfighter styling. Bodywork is minimal, but the overall design language is sharp, with beefy upside down front forks, LED lights all around, twin-port exhaust system and a single-sided swingarm. Hero didn't divulge any technical details of the XF3R concept, but the engine looks to be a single-pot mill, and could well be a 300 cc, fuel-injected and liquid-cooled engine. Output is expected to be in the region of 25-28 bhp with around 25 Nm of peak torque. Expect Hero to claim a package offering good performance and decent fuel economy as well.

So far, Hero is tight-lipped about whether the production-spec XF3R will be in fact be showcased at the Auto Expo 2018, or if the model is nearing production yet. For now, Hero is focussed on its first launch of the year, the Hero Xtreme 200 S, or the Xtreme NXT as it's being teased, which will be launched on January 30, 2018. The production model of the Hero XF3R, once it's launched, is expected to be competitively priced, under Rs. 2 lakh and will be in the same price bracket as the TVS Apache RR 310 and even the KTM 250 Duke.
