Auto Sales July 2022: Hyundai Sees Flat Sales; Reports 6% Cumulative Growth

Hyundai saw relatively flat sales in the domestic market reporting a 5.1% growth over July 2021. The carmaker sold 50,500 units in the domestic market in July 2022 as against 48,042 units a year ago. Compared to June 2022, sales were up by a rather marginal 3% with the carmaker recording domestic sales of 49,001 units in said month.
Commenting on the July 2022 sales, Tarun Garg, Director (Sales, Marketing & Service), Hyundai Motor India Ltd. said, “With the improvement in the semi-conductor situation, the passenger vehicle segment is showing positive trends riding on the green shoots of pent-up demand and customer desire towards personal mobility. Further, the newly launched Hyundai Tucson has built strong momentum ahead of the festive season and received overwhelming customer response. We remain optimistic towards the future prospects of the Indian Auto Industry.”

Hyundai recorded relatively flat growth in sales month-on-month with a 3% growth in domestic sales over June 2022
Exports showed more notable improvement with a 9.4% growth year-on-year though numbers fell flat when compared to June 2022. Hyundai reported cumulative exports of 13,351 units in July 2022 as against 13,350 units in June.
Cumulatively, Hyundai said it had registered a 6% growth in sales as compared to July 2021 with 63,851 units sold or exported though it was just 1,500 units more than June 2022 (62,351 units).
Hyundai is gearing to launch the new-gen Tucson in India with the company having opened bookings for the SUV in India last month. The new Tucson’s prices will be revealed on August 4.
