Bajaj NS 200 Adventure Showcased At Istanbul Motorbike Show

- The Pulsar NS 200 Adventure will not be launched in India
- The technical specifications remain the same as on the current model
- It gets a host of upgrades in order to help it tackle tough terrain
Low capacity adventure bikes are becoming more popular by the day. While India has the Royal Enfield Himalayan as the only budget adventure motorcycle available for now, Turkey might get an adventure variant of the humble Bajaj NS 200. Yes! You read that right! At the recently concluded Motobike Istanbul 2018, Bajaj showcased the Pulsar NS 200 Adventure. Quite a novel concept, we believe. The technical specifications of the bike remain exactly the same as on the regular bike, but the company has beefed up the bike to tackle bad terrain, thanks to some new parts.
(Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 Adventure)The Pulsar NS 200 Adventure gets a lot of kit, starting with a bashplate for the engine, handguards on the palm grips, a mesh grille on the headlamp, an aftermarket luggage rack and mounts for saddlebags at the rear and surprisingly, a fork brace up front as well. The cycle parts such as the swingarm, suspension etc. remain the same as well. The bike also gets provision for a flyscreen atop the headlamp and a case to put a GPS device/mobile phone near the right rear view mirror stalk.
(Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 Adventure)The bike continues to get a 199 cc single-cylinder engine, which makes 23.2 bhp at 9,500 rpm while peak torque output is rated at 18.3 Nm at 8,000 rpm and continues to be paired to a six-speed gearbox. Also, this is the fuel-injected engine while the NS 200 on sale in India gets a carburetted motor.
While these additions, the bike sure looks butch but we still have our doubts about its off-road credentials as the engine has to now work with added weight. We are unsure whether Bajaj will launch this particular variant of the NS 200 in India any time soon. Currently, the Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 is priced at Rs. 97,715 (ex-showroom Delhi).
