Ducati Theme Park To Open In Italy By 2019

- The Ducati World theme park will be a 115,000 square foot branded area
- It will be located inside the Mirabilandia amusement park in Italy
- Ducati World will showcase the iconic bikes from the manufacturer as well
Ducati is looking to offer the thrill of motorcycling beyond roads and plans to offer nothing less than a roller coaster of a ride next, quite literally. The Italian exotic bike maker has announced that it will be opening a Ducati theme park by 2019. The park will be called 'Ducati World' and will be a 115,000 square foot branded area located inside the Mirabilandia theme park on the North East coast of Italy. As you may have guessed, the theme park will have overwhelming amounts of Ducati branding right from rides, roller coasters, simulations and restaurants.
Alessandro Cicognani, Ducati Licensing and Corporate Partnership Director, said, "Ducati World will give visitors a chance to live an exciting journey inside the Ducati brand. Thanks to this agreement, together with (park operator) Parques Reunidos we're developing the first motorcycle themed area in an Italian amusement park. Mirabilandia location, at the heart of the Motor Valley, adds further value to this project dedicated to fun."
Ducati World will include a museum filled with iconic motorcycles from the manufacturer through the years. The roller coaster ride is said to imitate that of riding a Ducati, while there will be riding simulations and virtual reality options for folks to experience. So, yes, chances are you could be riding Andrea Dovizioso's Ducati in a virtual environment at least. In addition, you will also get to shop for Ducati memorabilia and merchandise to take back.
The Ducati World will be open to the public in 2019 and certainly going to be a haven for the brand lovers and motorcycle enthusiasts in globally. Interestingly, Ducati is fondly called the Ferrari of motorcycles, and the company has chosen to expand its presence in the same way that the Maranello based carmaker did with the Ferrari Theme Park. If this goes well, should you expect more of Ducati World's to show up around the globe? We certainly think so.
