F1: Jos Verstappen's Adviced Mick Schumacher When He Was In F4

- The senior Verstappen revealed that he gave advice to Schumacher's mom
- Jos Verstappen remains close to the Schumacher family
- He used to drive alongside Michael Schumacher at Benetton
Max Verstappen's dad Jos Verstappen just doesn't have a hand in the incredible success his son is enjoying having now won 4 races this season and 14 overall. He revealed that he gave advice to his former and more famous F1 teammate, Michael Schumacher's wife, Corinna, to chart out a future path of her son Mick Schumacher who has made an impressive start to F1 in 2021.
"I had a conversation with Corinna after his first year in Formula 4 and she asked me which way he should go," Jos advised that Mick should join the Italian Prema Powerteam. "They were the best in Formula 4 and Formula 3 at that time. And that's what they did," he said.
The senior Verstappen who used to drive alongside the legendary Michael Schumacher at Benetton in the mid-90s when he won his first two world titles has always been close to the Schumacher's. He revealed Mick is doing well and expected things to improve for both him and the Haas F1 team which has now become the slowest one on the grid.

The senior Verstappen was Michael Schumacher's teammate in Benetton
Haas has barely developed its car for the 2021 regulation and did the minimum changes to make the car compliant with the regulations. The only upgrade it has is the new Ferrari engine which is a big improvement over the one it had in 2020.
It has also absorbed some senior Ferrari talent like designer Simone Resta who will be operating from Maranello from a facility that's now being used exclusively by Haas. Verstappen predicts Ferrari support for Haas increase next year.
"I think next year Haas will be more supported by Ferrari", said the Dutchman who ended his career with the Arrows F1 team. He said that the reigning F2 champion was far better than his teammate Nikita Mazepin.
"He makes a lot fewer mistakes, is better in front of the press and above all he is faster," he added.
