Ferrari's Charles Leclerc Becomes The Face Of EA's F1 2022 Game

- Leclerc is also leading the F1 world championship
- The game also features new tracks like Miami
- The game also features a Champions Mode
Ferrari's Charles Leclerc and the leader of the 2022 world championship has become the brand ambassador and the lead face of EA Sports F1 2022 game which will be available later in the year on the PS5, Xbox One Series X, PS4, Xbox One and PC. Leclerc is joined by Mercedes driver George Russell and McLaren's Lando Norris.
EA Sports acquired Codemasters which was the publisher of the F1 games last year. This is the first F1 game which has been developed fully under the stewardship of EA Sports. EA Sports is known the world over for its iconic FIFA franchise of games and till the mid-2000s even had the rights for F1 games that featured drivers like Michael Schumacher.
"F1 22 is celebrating the best young talent in F1, and we are excited to build a deeper relationship with Charles Leclerc. Established as part of the new era of Formula 1, we will work with Charles throughout the season to bring our players closer to the action," said Lee Mather, F1 Senior Creative Director at Codemasters.

Leclerc is the world championship leader and now he is the face of the official F1 game
Apart from Leclerc, Russell and Norris who has been anointed as the next generation of F1 are joined with the current set of world champions on the grid in a special "Champions Edition" which will be an online exclusive. This edition of the game features reigning F1 world champion Max Verstappen and 7-time world champion Lewis Hamilton in the centre of the cover flanked by 2005-2006 world champion Fernando Alonso and 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 world champion Sebastian Vettel.
"We're also proud to celebrate our former World Champions with the F1 22 Champions Edition. They continue to inspire the next generation of drivers, and it's an honour to have them together on the cover of our digital-only version," added Lee Mather.
This is the first game to feature the new era of F1 cars that feature ground-effect aerodynamics. The game also features new tracks like the upcoming Miami street circuit, the retooled Abu Dhabi track and a classic track like Imola. It also makes room for F1 sprint races which debuted last year, however, weren't part of the 2021 game.
"The new F1 Life hub lets players show off their collection of customisation items and supercars, earned through gameplay, Podium Pass, and the in-game brand store. Returning features such as the 10-year Career, complete with a two-player option, My Team, and Multiplayer mean there has never been a better time to challenge for a place on the podium," EA Sports revealed in a press statement.
