Force India ties up with GP2 Team Hilmer Motorsport

Force India announced that Hilmer Motorsport will be its official GP2 team this year and will run in the F1 team's colours. The partnership with Hilmer Motorsport is an expansion of Force India's young driver programme.
Drivers like Facu Regalia and Daniel Abt will race next year and according to Vijay Mallya, Force India team principal, the partnership was a logical step to bring in the next generation of drivers and giving them an opportunity to showcase their talents at the GP2 level. He went on to say that, "Our presence in GP2 moves us closer to having a holistic development programme to school drivers from grassroots karting to the higher echelons of professional motorsport."
Regalia comes to GP2 after finishing as runner-up to Daniil Kvyat in GP3 last year, while it is the second season for Abt at the GP2 after a year with ART in 2013.
Franz Hilmer, Team Principal of the GP2 Team, also owns Formtech, which is a supplier to a number of F1 teams, has had an association with the Sahara Force India team for over a decade now and talking on the occasion he said, "With Facu Regalia and Daniel Abt we have two very talented young drivers with the potential to progress to Formula 1. We will do our best to support them on their way to the pinnacle of motor racing."
