Geneva Motorshow: BMW X4 revealed

BMW has officially unveiled their new X4 crossover at the Geneva Motorshow. The Bavarian car manufacturer had previewed the X4 concept at the Shanghai Motorshow, probably a year ago and now here is the final production version.
BMW has indeed shown us that they can introduce cars in niche segments and expand their product portfolio. With the launch of the new X4, they have done just that. The X4 is based on the X3 and draws a lot of inspiration from the X6 when it comes to styling.
There's an aggressive front fascia with a prominent grille and the twin headlamps alongwith the fog lights add character to the X4. The swooping roofline is reminiscent of a "classical sporting coupe."
The L-shaped LED taillights and a faux rear diffuser makes it better to look at even from the rear. The X4 is 14mm longer and 36mm lower than the X3 and BMW promises that it will be available in a range of engine options.
The diesel engines that will make their way into the X4 will be, the 2.0-litre, 4 cylinder (184bhp), 3.0-litre 6 cylinder (258bhp & 313bhp). In the petrol guise the engine options available are the 2.0-litre, 4 cylinder (184bhp), 2.0-litre 4 cylinder (245bhp) and the 3.0-litre 6 cylinder (306bhp).
Inside, the X4 is similar to the X3 and comes equipped with aluminum trim, electroplated accents and gloss black control panel surrounds. The rear seats can be split in the 40:20:40 format and they can be folded down to expand the cargo capacity to 1,400 litres.
BMW will get the X4 to India, but we doubt it will be this year. The updated X3 is expected in the latter half of this year and that will be priority.
