Guy Martin Sets New Wall of Death Record

Motorcycle racer and TV presenter Guy Martin has set a new Wall of Death world record by riding the biggest Wall of Death at a new record breaking speed. Martin hit a top speed of 125.7kmph on a BSA-engined motorcycle he built himself, around the large wooden drum type arena. The minimum requirement to break the record was to reach a minimum of 96.5kmph.

    Motorcycle racer and TV presenter Guy Martin has set a new Wall of Death world record by riding the biggest Wall of Death at a new record breaking speed. The record attempt was broadcast live on television as the 34-year-old sped a wall built of shipping containers in an ex-RAF hangar near Lincolnshire, UK.

    Martin hit a top speed of 125.7kmph on a BSA-engined motorcycle he built himself, around the large wooden drum type arena. The minimum requirement to break the record was to reach a minimum of 96.5kmph, completing a revolution of the 116.7 metre wall in just 4.3 seconds.

    In his first run, the 15-time TT podium finisher reached 113.18kmph, sustaining 5.4G. In his second run, he set a new world record of 125.7kmph.

    Guy Martin had been training for over a year for the record attempt which had to be postponed when he was injured at the Ulster Grand Prix in August 2015.
